not intended to

them in
all cases to banishment, and the intention was rather to extend the
powers given
to the Magistrates
in Ordinance 10 of 1844 to cases in which persons were suspected
"only, which was done by calling on them to find security
or in
default leaving it optional with the Government to either deport the man or make him serve out the time in Gaol for which he had been ordered to find security. In | the present
case it was recommended
that the prisoner be not deported and that he be instead detained in Gaol until the expiration of the three months after which he would be released.
